  23. If my name on CNIC / Passport is different which is mentioned on my academic documents. How can I get the same name on my degree/transcript issued by CUI?
    Answer At the time of admission, the applicant is required to enter his/her personal data (name, father name, Date of Birth (DOB)) in accordance to his/her Secondary School Certificate (SSC) / O-Levels certificate. However, in case of any change in student name, you will be first required to get the SSC/O-Level DMC / Certificate revised and submit the revised SSC/O-Level certificate to CUI for change in name.
    Please note that, you need to apply for the change in name or father name or DOB well before the printing of final transcript.
    In case of applying after printing of transcript / Degree, you will be required to pay the prescribed fee.

  24. Is there any part time degree programs or short course(s) / diploma offered by CUI?
    Answer CUI offers full time degree programs

  25. Does CUI Islamabad Campus offer any weekend programs?
    Answer Currently, no weekend programs are being offered by CUI.

  2. If I am filling the admission form and my online admission portal is stuck due to any reason, what should I do?
    Answer In case the admission page is not loading properly, the applicant is advised to change / update the web browser e.g google chrome, opera etc. if still the problem exist then contact admission office via e-mail and through message center.

  3. Can I apply admission in multiple campuses?
    Answer Yes, a candidate can apply for admission to more than one campus, fill up the new admission form, make new login, and use different e-mail address as used previously. And complete all the campus formalities of that campus 

  4. Will there be any deduction of marks at undergraduate level if my FA / FS.c / A-Level is not fresh?
    Answer There will be no deduction of marks in any case from overall merit.

  5. What are the eligibility criteria for admission in different undergraduate programs?

    Answer Yes, it is mandatory for the student to deposit application processing fee through challan form in any online bank branch mention on voucher.

    Answer Processing fee will not be refunded.

  8. Is admission processing fee for one campus acceptable for all other campuses?
    Answer No, the candidate must submit admission processing fee for each campus separately through challan form available on admission portal.

  9. Is it necessary to send the hard copy of processing fee paid challan form to Admission Office of the campus?
    Answer There is no need to send the hard copy to Admission Office, but it is mandatory for each applicant to upload the image of their paid challan while filling-up the application in online admission portal.

  10. Can I select more than one choice on the admission form?
    Answer Yes, you can select more than one choice on the admission form of same degree level.

  11. Can I edit information in my admission application?
    Answer Yes, you can edit your online admission form before submission. Once, your admission form is received by the admission office then the candidate cannot edit any information on admission form.

  12. How can I edit my information on submitted admission form?
    Answer To edit your information on the already submitted admission form. You will contact the admission office and submit an editing request either via e-mail or through the message center available in the online admission portal.

  13. Does CUI allows result awaiting candidate to apply for admission at Undergraduate level?
    Answer Yes, COMSATS allows the result awaiting applicants of F.Sc (Part-2) to apply for admission on the basis of their F.Sc part-1 result having no “F” grade in each course. However, the merit of the A-Level (A2) result awaiting student will be determined based on Matric/O-level submitted equivalence certificate (issued by IBCC) at the time of admission. 

  14. What will be status of my admission in case of result awaiting?
    Answer You will be offered provisional / conditional admission which will be confirmed after submission and verification of your SSC/O-Level and HSSC/A-level Certificate.

  15. My percentage in F.A / F.Sc part-1 is less than 60% (for Engineering and Architecture) or 50% (for non-engineering programs) . Can I apply for admission?
    Answer In any case, your provisional admission will be cancelled with immediate effect, if you fail to achive minimum 60% marks in HSSC for Engineering and Architecture programs and minimum 50% marks for Non-engineering programs.

  16. Can I apply for admission in CUI having a Supply in FA / F.Sc part-1 Exam?
    Answer Student having supply in FA / F.Sc part-1 cannot apply for admission. However, they can apply admission in the next session with complete FA / F.Sc pass result.

  17. A student who has given improvement exams (FA / F.Sc) and is waiting for final result, can he / she apply for admission?
    Answer They can only apply for admission on the basis of their old/available FA / F.Sc complete results subject to meeting the eligibility criteria of a program. However, they can update their FA / F.Sc improved result by contacting Admission Office once the result is announced by their respective board before the merit list is published. After the display of the merit list, improved F.Sc results will not be considered.

  18. Can Pre-medical student with Additional Maths (result awaiting) apply in Engineering programs?
    Answer Yes, they can apply for admission on the basis of the F.SC part-1 exam. However they will be treated as a result awaiting candidate and while filling up the admission form they will mention their F.Sc – part-1 result and furnish Affidavit on the stamp paper that he/she appeared for Additional Maths exam prior to applying for admission in CUI.

  19. I have completed my FA / F.Sc. Can I mentioned overall complete FA/F.Sc result?
    Answer Student who has completed their FA/F.Sc/ A-Levels are required to mentioned overall FA/F.Sc result.

  20. Is it mandatory for an applicant who has completed O-level and A-level to obtain equivalence from IBCC while applying for admission in CUI?
    Answer Yes, the applicant must obtain the equivalence of O-Level and A-level from Inter Board Chairman Committee (IBCC) before applying for admission in CUI.

  21. How A-Level result awaiting student will apply for admission in CUI?
    Answer A-Level result awaiting student can apply for admission on the basis of his / her Matric / O-Level exam equivalence certificate issued by IBCC.

  22. How the merit of A-Level result awaiting applicant will be calculated?
    Answer The merit of A-level result awaiting applicant will be formulated based upon the Matric/O-Level Equivalency plus Entry exam. In case of any restriction beyond human control, where entry exam is not possible to be conducted in that scenario the directive of Government of Pakistan will be followed.

  23. Is it mandatory for the A-Level student to produce A-Level equivalency while applying for admission in CUI?
    Answer If the candidate has already cleared / completed A-Level, then he/she must submit A-Level equivalence certificate from IBCC at CUI. Moreover, if a student is unable to produce A-Level equivalency then merit will NOT be formulated based upon grade letter.

  24. What if, an A Level result awaiting student unable to produce O-Level equivalency while applying for admission in CUI?
    Answer If student is unable to produce O-Level equivalency, then the form will be rejected.

  25. Can O&A Level student obtain combine equivalency of O&A Level from IBCC ?
    Answer Student of O&A Level will request IBCC to issue O-level (10th grade) and A-level (12thgrade) equivalency separately as it is a requirement of university for merit calculation.

  26. How the candidate from American / GED / foreign board will apply for admission?
    Answer Student who will apply admission from American / GED / foreign board will get the equivalency of 10th and 12th grade separately from IBCC. If he/she is unable to produce equivalency documents, the admission form will be rejected.

  27. Does CUI arrange any entry exam for the candidate?
    Answer Yes, CUI conduct entry exam at the time of admissions for Undergraduate and Graduate programs applicants.

  28. What is the difference between NAT and GAT and for which exam I will register myself?
    Answer
    • NAT stands for National Aptitude Test. Candidates who will apply for admission for bachelor level will appear in NAT test.
    • GAT General stands for Graduate Aptitude test. Candidates who will apply for admission in MS program will appear in GAT General test.
    • GAT Subject stands for Graduate Aptitude test. Candidates who will apply for admission in Ph.D. programs will appear in GAT Subject test.

  29. What are the passing marks in entry exam?
    Answer
    • For Bachelor Level: applicant is advised to get maximum marks in test to be able to qualify for merit.
    • For MS Level: 50 score is the passing score in GAT General test.
    • For Ph.D Level: 60 score is the passing score in GAT Subject test.

  30. I have not passed/appeared in any NAT/GAT test scheduled by the NTS. Can I still apply for admission?
    Answer Yes, you can register yourself for the NAT/GAT test arranged by CUI exclusively for the CUI applicants.

  31. In which NAT test category, I will appear for test?
    Answer NAT test base upon what you have studied in your FA/F.Sc/ A-Levels, you will select and appear in that test category that is relevant to the FA/F.Sc/ A-Levels group of studies for example, if you are a pre-medical student you will appear in the IM exam of the NAT test. Even you are applying to BBA, A&F program. The test is based upon what you have studied in past. 

  32. NTS test fee is included in the processing fee?
    Answer NTS test fee is not included in the processing fee of CUI admissions. To register for entry test through COMSATS applicant will pay the separate fee of NTS registration.

  33. If I have passed the NTS exam before, will it be enough for admission?
    Answer If you had a valid (in term of expiry date) NAT/GAT test result at the time of admissions application submissions, it will be accepted for the admission processing and merit calculation. However, each semester CUI receives huge numbers of applications in various program and in some programs number of seats are limited. To qualify on merit, it is advised to re-appear for NTS test to improve your test score for merit competition.

  34. If I have a valid NAT/GAT test result and I have also appeared in CUI’s NTS test, which result will be considered for the merit?
    Answer If you have submitted previous valid score card with your admission application and register yourself for another NAT/GAT test, the best score from both results will be counted for the merit calculation.

  35. If I am applying admission in more than one campus. Will I have to appear for test from each campus?
    Answer One campus NTS test is applicable for other campus(s), no need to re-register yourself for NTS test from multiple campuses.
    However, following points must be kept in mind while appearing/registering for the NTS/GAT test through CUI.
    • The admission closing date of CUI campuses which can be different.
    • Student will fill-up the admission form and register for NAT/GAT test of that campus whose closing date is earlier.
    • Later fill-up the admission form of any other campus.
    • While filling up the admission form of 2nd campus he/she can mention their CUI roll no (which is their form number) in the 3rd portion of NTS section.

  36. Where should I send the paid voucher of NTS?
    Answer The candidate is advised to keep the hard copy of paid NTS challan. But it is mandatory for each applicant to upload the image of their paid challan while filling-up the application in online admission portal.

  37. Do COMSATS accept other university NTS (NAT / GAT) test?
    Answer COMSATS do not accept the entry test / NTS test score of any other institute/university. However, CUI will accept the score of candidates who are appeared for NAT / GAT test through NTS.

  38. If I have appeared for NAT / GAT test through NTS and do not have an original test card. What should I do?
    Answer You can furnish internet generated result from NTS website for admission.

  39. Can I use CUI NTS test for other university admission?
    Answer It is purely the discretion of that university/institute to accept CUI’s NAT/GAT result.

  40. From where I can get the preparation material for NTS exam?
    Answer You can purchase the NTS book for preparation from any book shop.

  41. Can I get admission in MS / Ph.D. program without appearing in GAT test at the time of admission?
    Answer It is mandatory for each candidate to appear and pass GAT test at the time of admission. Admission will not be granted without GAT exam. For MS candidate GAT General whereas for Ph.D. GAT Subject is mandatory.

  42. If I have passed the GAT-General/GAT-Subject exam. Should it be enough to secure admission in CUI?
    Answer GAT-General/GAT-Subject exams are the pre-requisite of admission process for MS/Ph.D. candidates. Candidate only will get the call for departmental test/interview upon qualifying their respective GAT exam. After passing the departmental test/interview, candidate’s name will be recommended for the merit and university will offer admission accordingly. The unqualified candidates in interview will not get the offer for admission.

  43. In case my NAT/GAT score is expire before the closing date. Will it be considered for Admissions?
    Answer If can applicant NAT/GAT test score expire before the closing date of admission application. The candidate will register and appear for test again through CUI, otherwise the admission form will not be considered.

  44. Does work experience count in the calculation of my aggregate merit for admission in MS program?
    Answer Work experience is not considered in merit list calculation for admission in MS program.

  45. Can result awaiting apply for MS/Ph.D. admission?
    Answer Result awaiting candidates cannot apply for admissions in MS/PHD program.

  46. Can result awaiting apply for MS/Ph.D. admission?
    Answer Result awaiting candidates cannot apply for admissions in MS/PHD program.

  47. There is a 3rd division in my academic career, can I apply for MS/Ph.D. program?
    Answer There shall not be a 3rd Division throughout academic career for applying in MS/Ph.D. program.

  48. What is a university refund policy?
    Answer Cancellation of Admission and Refund of Fee -In case of cancellation/ withdrawal of admission at CUI, the refund will be made as per CUI policy mentioned below:

    Answer In case you are unable to meet the eligibility criteria of a program after deceleration of board result. Your admission will be canceled immediately, and all your deposited dues will be refunded upon submission of failed result transcript/DMC.

  50. How much time university take for refund of dues?
    Answer New admissions refund of dues cases initiated at the 1st week of commencement of classes and it took two (02) weeks.

  51. Does a university provide installment at the time of admission?
    Answer CUI Islamabad Campus do not provide installments at the time of admission, however this option is available in some of the CUI Campuses.

  52. Does a fee structure of CUI will remain same / constant throughout my degree program?
    Answer No, it will change as and when notified by the university from time to time.

  53. What is the procedure to cancel new admission?
    Answer If a candidate wants to cancel the admission. He/she will submit a written application duly signed by the parents and the candidate along with following necessary documents
    Documents to be submitted:
    • Photocopy of Offer letter.
    • Photocopy of paid fee challan.

    Important point: while applying for cancellation of admission, candidate is advised to follow the period /duration as mentioned in refunded policy as explain earlier.


  54. Is it possible to apply after the deadline? What is the late application policy?
    Answer Applications cannot be submitted after the deadline. There is no late application / Fee policy.

  55. May I appeal against the admission decision and ask admission office to explain in writing?
    Answer Each semester CUI receives large number of applications. All the short-listing candidates are informed well before fee submission deadline to submit the fee and get his/her provisional admission seat reserved. Unfortunately, not all the applicants qualify for the admission just because of the limited numbers of seats in various programs. The decision regarding admission is final.
    Due to large volume of applications, it is not possible to provide feedback to each unsuccessful applicant in writing.

  56. If I have been admitted. Can I defer my current semester?
    Answer To attend the first semester in CUI is compulsory and deferment is not an option for the Undergraduates applicant.
    However, the applicant of graduate program may defer his/her first semester in case of special circumstance like medical issue etc.

  57. I was selected in previous admission cycle and did not joined. Can I avail previous admission offer in current admission cycle?
    Answer Previous admission offer was valid only for that previous semester and time limited.

  58. How can I check my application status?
    Answer You can check your application status by login into your online admission portal. When your application will be processed then this message will appear on screen. “Your application is successfully verified”

  59. Can I change my program after depositing the dues?
    Answer Yes, a student can change his/her program before commencement of classes subject to fulfillment of following requirements:
    • Meeting the pre-requisite/eligibility criteria of that program on which he/she is seeking transfer
    • Meeting the Closing Merit of said program
    • Availability of the seat in that program

  60. How can I change the program after commencement of classes?
    Answer After commencement of classes, if a student intended to change his/her program is requested to submit a written application to the concerned HoD, who will further forward the said application to the department of Academics for further processing as per rule. Change of program request will be entertain till the end of first week of commencement of classes, after that no request will be considered.

  61. If I got admission in one campus and later another campus of CUI offers me admission in same session, shall my admission be transferred, or I must study in the campus in which I have completed my formalities?
    Answer Admission in one campus of CUI can be transferred to another campus of CUI (if offered by another campus), the paid dues will be transferred to the campus of destination in due course of time. However, the student who intend to transfer in other campus will submit the written application and produce the offer letter of that campus (in which he/her intend to join). Then the admission transfer case will be initiated by Admission Office.

  62. I have accepted the provisional admission offer by submitted the dues. Shall I have to submit any document to the university?
    Answer Following documents are necessary to be submitted if admitted at undergraduate program
    1. Printed Admission Form downloaded from your registration login at CUI Admission portal
    2. Two passport size current photographs of candidate (One attested from Face side and the other at the back)
    3. Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or B-Form
    4. Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Mark Sheet, whereas candidates withO-Level education will furnish equivalence certificate issued by the Inter-board Chairman Committee (IBCC) along with statement of Results/Entry
    5. Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) and Mark Sheet. Result awaiting candidates to provide copy of HSSC Part One Result Card whereas candidates with A-Level education will furnish equivalence certificate issued by the Interboard Chairman Committee (IBCC) along with statement of Results/Entry
    6. Valid National Testing Service (NTS) Result Card

  63. What mistake(s) I must avoid while applying to CUI for admission?
    Answer A candidate shall keep a check on the following:
    • Meeting the eligibility of the program(s) applying (can be check on eligibility criteria page through admission website’s homepage)
    • Must enter correct information as mentioned on official document(s) especially spelling of name and Father name.
    • Uploading of clear/complete image of result card(s)
    • Must upload clear image of paid processing fee challan / NTS paid challan.
    • Must click on submit application after completing all steps of online admission application

  64. I completed and submitted my online admission application. Am I done now?
    Answer You shall keep a check on your online admission console by visiting it until you get the following message:
    • Your form has been Verified
    • Your form has been Verified and Test has been Registered. Print your test roll number slip (for those who will appear for their respective test via CUI)
    • There is an objection on your admission application. Please Address it before form submission deadline. (for those whose online admission application has an anomaly)

  65. There is an objection on my submitted admission application. What shall I do now?
    Answer When you get that message on your CUI online admission login, read the objection carefully and address/resolve it before form submission deadline otherwise your application shall not be processed.

  66. How I shall be informed about objection(s) on my submitted admission application?
    Answer You will be informed, only before form submission deadline, via:
    • Message in your online admission application login
    • E-mail, on which you have registered your CUI online admission account while applying

  67. How I can come to know, I have been selected in any program?
    Answer The applicant can view his/her merit status by login into the admission portal. The selected candidates will get their offer letter and challan for further compliance.

Scholarships:

The following scholarships are available at the time of admission. However, the candidate has to submit his/her dues which will be reimbursed later after completion of procedure and formalities.

  1. CUI ISB Undergraduate Top Merit Scholarship

Said scholarship is offered to the candidates who top the merit of each program. This scholarship is not transferable nor offered in case of change of program. Scholarship is valid for 8 semesters subject to meeting certain criteria.

  1. CUI ISB Merit-Based Fee Waiver Scholarship

Said scholarship applies to students enrolled in the following programs subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.

Upon completion of the admission process, the top five students on the merit list for the mentioned programs will be eligible for

Applicants shall submit their admission application forms through the CUI Online admission portal by opting for the choice of PWWF talent scheme along with specific required documents to make them eligible for the scholarship within the stipulated time.

  1. High Achievers Scholarship for the Top Ten (10) Board Position Holders

The scholarship shall be awarded only to the Top Ten (10) position holders of respective boards across the country.

There are numerous other Government /externally funded scholarships which announced from time to time during semester(s).

In general, the term "Relevant Field" is considered as the continuity of your previous studied subjects' group. However, For MS/Ph.D. programs, CUI has a Departmental Graduate Admission Committee in each Academic department. Admission Office forwards all the admission applications to the concerned department after ensuring the basic eligibility criteria of the applied program. Departmental Admission Committee reviews submitted applications along with the subjects studied in the previous degree and map the previously studied subjects with the applied programs. Based on which they decide further consideration of the admission application.
